Job Description

Busy Day charter company looking for experienced and/or entry level Captains for Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

Drug free workplace and a pre employment background check will be conducted.

Must be reliable, Only local candidates will be considered. Full and part time positions available.

We are operating US flagged vessels, which means that all Captains must hold a USGC Masters license and are US citizens.

Applicants with a Sail endorsement are preferred

Mates and Deckhands must be legal US residents.

Captains with an OUPV license may operate in crew capacity until the receive their masters.

We operate USCG inspected vessels, meaning that all employees must undergo a background check and a pre-employment drug screen. All crew are subject to random drug screenings at anytime in our employ and will be required to submit a sample immediately following an accident or serious marine incident.

This does not mean that one may not be hired if they are unable to pass the pre-employment test. However one will need to maintain a drug free lifestyle in order to maintain employment.

This is an outside position, so crew will be required to withstand the long hot summer days, rain, cold, as well as any other elements that may occur.

There are many physical aspects to this job. The ability to lift heavy objects; move around confined spaces, jump and climb are necessary to perform most tasks. Satisfactory hearing and eyesight is also required for the safety of passengers, vessels and crew.

We work with the public sector. We have guests aboard from every region of the world and walk of life. As such good grooming and culturally popular acceptable appearance must be displayed. Excessive exposed tattoos and piercings may not hamper ones ability to be hired, however others applicants may be more likely to be considered for crew and captain positions.

Summary

As a USCG Licensed Catamaran Captain, you will be responsible for the safe navigation and operation of our vessels, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your core skills in management, rigging, and mechanical knowledge will be essential for maintaining vessel integrity and crew safety. Your premium military experience will enhance your leadership capabilities, fostering a disciplined and efficient working environment. With a valid USCG Master or OUPV License, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional maritime experiences while upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Operate and navigate the catamaran safely in compliance with USCG regulations.
• Manage crew and delegate tasks to ensure smooth operations during voyages.
• Follow company policies as described in employee manual.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on the vessel's rigging and mechanical systems.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed and provide training to crew members.
• Maintain accurate logs of navigation, weather conditions, and vessel performance.
• Respond to emergencies and implement contingency plans as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
