The Pediatric Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist will report directly to the Nurse Manager of their unit. This person will feel supported by their Manager and the Director, and will lead a fantastic team of PICU RNs. This Nurse Leader will have the opportunity to grow and develop their career under the direction and mentorship of a great team in a world-class department. The ideal candidate will be Clinical Nurse Specialist certified in the state of California.
The Pediatric Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide in-depth clinical expertise to the PICU unit as a whole, including Nurses and Physicians. This involves monitoring care standards and making recommendations for changes in the PICU. In addition, the position requires development of educational programs for patients, families and staff to promote more effective and quality care. The Pediatric Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist will also be expected to provide consultation to physicians, nurses and other health care providers in unique situations as well as promoting use of best evidence based practice.
