The Division of Administration/Office of Technology Services has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of TS-319. This position is located in the Data Center Operations Section. Req. 205982

This vacancy will be filled by promotion of a current permanent status Office of Technology Services employee. A permanent status employee may be required to serve a new probationary period in lieu of promotion.

This position will oversee the operations, systems, purchases, budget, and security of the OTS Data Center Operation's Database section.

Vacancies within other units of Data Center Operations and different technical disciplines such as server management, database administration, mainframe administration, or storage administration may be filled from this posting.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Seven years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR

An associate's degree in information technology plus five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR

A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus four years of experience in information technology or administrative services; OR

A master's degree plus four years of experience in information technology or administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

NOTE:

A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Directs a complex section of the Office of Technology Services, usually consisting of multiple defined organizational units; includes responsibility for personnel management, section operations, budget and strategic planning.

Directs the work of unit managers by formally assessing subordinate performance and providing training and guidance as necessary.

Ensures efficiency in operational performance of unit managers and other subordinate staff by monitoring work assignments, mitigating areas of concern, and providing recommendations to higher-level OTS personnel to improve the section's performance.

Directs the development of current and long-range programs, plans and policies for a complex section.

Directs analyses of the impact of federal, state and local laws, regulations and procedures on the section's information technology resources and services.

Conducts staff meetings and conferences with unit managers to discuss operating problems, organization, budgetary matters, personnel matters, technical problems and the status of programs and projects.

Confers with the division administrator and executive management to establish section priorities for the provision of consulting and technical services to customer agencies including the plans for selecting, purchasing, implementing, or delivering information technology resources and services.

May provide information to the legislature regarding the section's activities and operations.

Oversees normal, high priority, and emergency change management processes for the section by serving as a member of the change control group; coordinates the

impact analysis for change requests and implements change deployments as scheduled for the respective section.

Directs the development of lines of service for the section and assesses rates to ensure cost-recovery of services provided to agency clients.

Supports contracting and procurement strategies for section technologies and/or services.
