Tewksbury Hospital, part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), is seeking a dynamic Emergency Management Coordinator to play an essential role in safeguarding the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors by advancing emergency preparedness across the hospital. This position supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of emergency management programs and plans, ensuring they are compliant with Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other regulatory requirements. By collaborating closely with leadership, department heads, and external partners such as fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and public health agencies, the Coordinator will help the hospital maintain a proactive and coordinated response to all types of emergencies.
This role offers the opportunity to lead staff training, conduct exercises based on Homeland Security standards, and manage critical post-incident evaluations through After-Action Reports and improvement tracking. As a visible and engaged presence during real-world incidents and exercises, the Coordinator will contribute directly to the hospital’s resilience and readiness. Ideal for someone passionate about emergency planning and inter-agency collaboration, this position also involves helping secure funding through grants to strengthen and expand preparedness efforts.
Please Note: This position is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week. The schedule will be 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The scheduled days off will be Saturday and Sunday.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.*
II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.*
III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
