Tesla's Aerodynamics team is looking for an exceptional Aerodynamics Engineer to grow our capabilities and help us accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. You will be involved in the development of groundbreaking new products from their earliest conception, through to volume production and beyond, delivering unparalleled efficiency and ludicrous performance alongside uncompromising comfort, safety and reliability. The successful candidate will have a proven record of applying deep technical understanding to real world design problems to produce creative solutions. You will work dynamically with cross functional partners in Design, Vehicle Engineering and Program Management to meet challenging aerodynamics targets and redefine what is possible in the automotive industry. What You'll Do Working alongside Designers to define products that are as aerodynamically efficient as they are aesthetically pleasingDeveloping aerodynamic concepts in CAD; evaluating and refining them using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)Defining and executing wind tunnel, road and track test programsAnalyzing and documenting test and simulation results; presenting findingsProviding feedback to the Programs teams and Executives on aerodynamic attributes and development statusWorking with engineers to perfect part execution for aerodynamics and resolve design conflicts. Supporting Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Test and Modeling teams in vehicle level attribute optimization and characterizationDeveloping tools and methods used within the Aerodynamics team
What You'll Bring Expert knowledge of fluid dynamics A track record of aerodynamic design abilityDetailed knowledge of CFD fundamentals and experience using CFD software (preferably Star CCM+)Experience conducting aerodynamic testing in wind tunnels and/or on trackFamiliarity with using CAD to create and manipulate 3D surface geometry (preferably Catia/3DX)Ability to work towards challenging, dynamic goals with minimal supervisionMotorsport or Automotive industry experience is a plus

Expected Compensation
$101,080 - $243,390/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
